PROGRAM OFFICER – BRIDGE PROJECT (LAGOS)

The Women Environment and Youth Development Initiative (WOYODEV) is inviting applications from qualified and passionate individuals for the position of Program Officer under the BRIDGE Project, supported by Lloyd’s Register Foundation.

The BRIDGE Project focuses on strengthening intergenerational learning, preserving maritime heritage, promoting skills and knowledge exchange, and supporting sustainable community development initiatives within coastal and riverine communities.

Location: Lagos State (Preference for candidates residing around the Epe axis)

Position Type: Part time- Contract/ Project based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities in Lagos communities.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement with community leaders, youth groups, women groups, and relevant government agencies.
  • Coordinate trainings, community meetings, learning sessions, and field activities.
  • Conduct monitoring visits and support documentation of project outcomes and success stories.
  • Prepare activity reports, field reports, and other project documentation.
  • Support community mobilization and participant engagement.
  • Maintain effective communication with project partners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure project activities align with WOYODEV policies and donor requirements.
  • Carry out regular visits to relevant agencies and institutions connected to maritime and community development activities.

Requirements / Criteria:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, Maritime Studies, Community Development, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in project implementation, community engagement, or NGO programming.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating community-based activities and stakeholder engagements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage field activities effectively.
  • Good knowledge of Lagos coastal or riverine communities is an added advantage.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools effectively.
  • Candidates residing around the Epe axis and able to onduct institutional and agency visits will have an added advantage.
  • Passion for community development, youth empowerment, and gender inclusion.
