For Political Inclusion Events in Enugu, Lagos, and Kwara States

Organized by: Women Environment and Youth Development Initiative (WOYODEV)

WOYODEV is seeking qualified and passionate Sign Language Interpreters to support our upcoming political inclusion activities aimed at empowering Women with Disabilities (WwDS) in Enugu, Lagos, and Kwara States.

These activities are part of the From Margins to Mainstream (FmTm) initiative under WOYODEV’s inclusive governance and political participation project. The project focuses on strengthening leadership capacity among persons with disabilities, especially women, as a vital step toward amplifying their voices in political and governance spaces.

This effort aligns with the UN Women’s WYDE (Women and Youth Democratic Engagement) Initiative, a global collaborative supported by the European Union. WYDE aims to advance women’s political participation and decision-making, particularly for the most marginalized—including young women and women with disabilities—by supporting civil society and women’s rights organizations.

✅ Eligibility:

  • Proficient in Nigerian Sign Language (NSL)
  • Experience working with women and persons with disabilities
  • Based in or ability to travel to Enugu, Lagos, or Ilorin
  • Respect for feminist and disability rights values

📌 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate interpretation during workshops and public forums
  • Facilitate clear, inclusive communication between facilitators and participants
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics
